4 New Clients Join the Ad Plus Team

Advertising Plus recenty announced its acquisition of 4 new major accounts during the third quarter of the year (2005). These include one with the City of Fort Smith, which retained the agency to redevelop and enhance the City's website.

LATCO, Inc. of Lincoln named Advertising Plus its agency of record. LATCO is a $110 million-plus regional construction firm throughout the Southeastern and Midwestern United States.

PeerMe, Inc. of Mountain View, CA chose Advertising Plus to build its identity campaign, website, and online advertising effort. Advertising Plus won a design competition among international agencies in order to win the business. PeerMe is a privately-held, international peer-to-peer communications technology company with additional offices in Tokyo, South Korea, hina, India, Bulgaria, and Austin, TX.

Southern Personnel Management, Inc. of Van Buren, a $70 million-plus human resources outsourcing/consulting company, named Advertising Plus its agency of record for all marketing, public relations, and advertising efforts. SPMI is a full-service company providing payroll, worker's compensation, OSHA compliance, risk management, loss prevention, and benefits work for businesses in 49 states.

The City of Fort Smith chose Advertising Plus to design and develop its new city website portal. The design will include Advertising Plus's customized content management system and will provide a more user-friendly experience. The website will be located at www.fsark.com.

 

Ad Plus Selected as Print Agency of Record for Asa Hutchinson

In September 2005, Advertising Plus was selected as the print agency of record for the Asa Hutchinson for Governor campaign. The announcement was made in an edition of Campaigns & Elections magazine. More details to follow.

 

City Hires Ad Plus to Fight Guard Layoffs

Fort Smith and two other entities have agreed to pay consultants $40,000 to help fight off a Department of Defense
recommendation to strip the 188th Air National Guard wing of its jet fighters and two thirds of its members.
The city, the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Fort Smith Regional Airport Commission have
agreed to split the cost of hiring Advertising Plus of Fort Smith and retired Col. Brock Strom.

Advertising Plus and Strom will assist a task force in preparing to defend the Arkansas Air National Guard’s
188th Fighter Wing against recommendations that its F-16C Falcon fighters be retired or reassigned and that
it lose 670 of its 1,000 jobs.

City Economic Development Coordinator Tracy Winchell said Advertising Plus will be paid $5,000 a month for
four months. City Administrator Bill Harding said Strom will be paid $10,000 a month for two months.

Winchell said Advertising Plus, headed by chairman Mark Myers, will put together briefing books, write testimony
and act as a congressional liaison.

Strom retired Wednesday as chief of operations at the Air National Guard headquarters in Washington, D.C.
He was invited to assist Fort Smith by his longtime friend, Col. Kevin Wear, deputy commander of the 188th.

Strom will use his military expertise and knowledge to help Fort Smith shape its message and to analyze and
respond to how the Base Realignment and Closure Commission and Department of Defense.

The task force is preparing for a hearing before the commission that has tentatively been scheduled for July 11
in San Antonio
.


Ad Agency & PR Firm Merge Forces
Mark Myers Buys Controlling Interest in Ad Plus Inc. from Ralph Smith

May 10, 2005 - Long-time Arkansas area marketing and advertising professional, Ralph Smith, has sold controlling interest in Advertising Plus, Incorporated to Mark Myers, a Van Buren, Ark. public relations consultant.

“Having the opportunity to work with a well-known and consummate professional like Ralph Smith made this merger irresistible. From a business perspective, one clearly sees the growth potential as exciting, considering our combined resources,” Myers stated.

Smith added, “The potential market for our joint efforts made this a ‘must-do,’ not just for Ad Plus, but for our clients as well. Mark’s ability, contacts, and the additional services that he brings to the table really made this attractive to me. Our staff is positively energized and our clients should be elated.”

Smith will remain a shareholder in Advertising Plus, Inc. He will assume the role of Founder and Principal. Myers will become Chairman and CEO of Advertising Plus, Inc. Both will be members of the Board of Directors.

Advertising Plus has been in business in Fort Smith, Arkansas for over 16 years. The agency has won over 70 Addys for its work in TV commercials, radio commercials, print materials and web design. Most recently, it won four Gold Addys at the Fort Smith Ad Club awards banquet for Consumer Web Site, Logo design, Newspaper Ad and Interactive Opening Video.

Mark Myers has owned and operated Myers Global Media Group, Ltd. It specializes in corporate communications and political consulting. He served as Asa Hutchinson’s campaign manager in his bid for the open congressional seat in 1996 for Arkansas’ Third Congressional District. He left Arkansas to temporarily join Hutchinson’s Washington, DC staff. Myers subsequently returned to Arkansas to manage a second congressional race, and has served as a consultant to corporations, congressional, legislative and local candidates. Additionally, he served as the Public Relations Manager and Marketing Communications Manager for the former publicly-traded company, Loislaw.com.

Myers Global Media Group, Ltd and Advertising Plus, Inc. will remain separate entities.
